Rally turns a video of your padel match into a few numbers, one thing to work on and your best moments. This is what that takes from you, where it goes and how to make it go away. Rally is in beta.

There is no account

Rally makes a random ID on your phone the first time you open it. It tells your matches apart from everyone else’s. It is not linked to your name, email, phone number or any other account, and Rally never asks for them.

Your name, your Playtomic level and whether you are a player or a coach are kept on your phone. Your level goes to Rally’s server with each match, because the coaching is pitched at it. Your name never leaves the phone.

What Rally receives

The video you choose to analyse, its length and frame size, the side of the court you played on and, if you tapped yourself on the first frame, where you tapped. With it, your confirmation that everyone in the video agreed to be filmed and analysed, and when you gave it.

If you allow notifications, a push token: an address Expo (our push provider) uses to reach this phone when a result is ready. It is kept with the match and goes when the match does.

Your IP address, as with any request on the internet. Rally uses it to stop one address flooding the server (those counts live in memory for a minute) and keeps it in the server’s request log, with the time and the request, for a short while to find faults and abuse.

Error reports, when something breaks, through Sentry. They carry the phone model, the OS version and what went wrong. Your device ID, your video, request bodies and cookies are removed before they leave the phone, and there are no screenshots or screen recordings.

Usage counts

To see where people get stuck, Rally counts a few steps through PostHog, in the EU: finishing the first open, starting an upload (its length to the nearest five minutes), a result arriving and whether it could be measured, opening a highlight, the share screen, the guide or these questions, opening Rally Pro and subscribing (with or without the trial), and deleting your data. Each count carries a random ID of its own, not your device ID, and nothing else: no video, no name, no level, no location.

They are on unless you turn them off: Settings → Usage counts. Delete my data also gives the counts a new ID.

What happens to your video

Rally’s server analyses it to find the players, their movement and their shots. Nobody watches it.

When the analysis is done, the uploaded video is deleted, along with every working copy made from it. An upload that stops half way is deleted after 12 hours. Rally keeps short clips of your highlights and a frame from each, for 30 days, so you can watch and share them; after that the clips are deleted and the match keeps only its numbers.

Your video is not used to train anything, by Rally or by anyone else, and there is no setting that would let it be.

The numbers (distance, positions, shot counts, the score and the fix) are kept until you delete them.

Who else sees anything

The coaching line is written by Anthropic’s Claude from the numbers alone: no video, no frame, no ID. Anthropic does not use it to train its models.

Push notifications go through Expo, and on to Apple or Google. Error reports go to Sentry, usage counts to PostHog. Rally’s server and its storage are one rented machine from OVH in the United Kingdom.

If you buy Rally Pro, Apple or Google take the payment and RevenueCat tells Rally’s server that you have it. RevenueCat knows this phone only by a scrambled form of its ID, and Rally never sees your card or store account. Rally keeps that scrambled ID and when your Pro ends, even after Delete my data, so Restore purchases can give it back to you.

Rally does not sell your data, show ads or share anything with Playtomic or any club.

Who can see your matches

Only this phone. The server answers a request for a match only from the device that sent it, and clip links stop working after six hours. A match you share is a clip you chose to send.

Deleting everything

Settings → Delete my data removes every match, clip, number and stored copy Rally holds for this phone, on the server and on the phone, straight away. A match still being analysed goes the moment its current step ends. Your phone then gets a new ID, so nothing it sends afterwards is tied to what you deleted.

Deleting the app without doing this leaves your matches on the server until their clips expire and, for the numbers, until you write to us.

Children

Rally is not meant for anyone under 16. Do not upload a match with a child in it unless you are their parent or guardian.

Your rights and questions

You can see, correct or delete what Rally holds about you. Delete my data does the last in one tap; for anything else, or a question about this page, write to support@rallyapp.si with your device ID from Settings.

If Rally changes what it collects, this page changes first and the date at the top moves.

This website

rallyapp.si sets no cookies, loads nothing from anyone else (no analytics, no fonts, no scripts, no images from a third party) and keeps no log of who visits.

If you join the waitlist, Rally keeps the email address you typed, the sentence you agreed to ("We'll email you when Rally launches. Unsubscribe anytime."), the moment you agreed and which form it was, in one file on the same server in the United Kingdom. It is used for that email and nothing else, never shared, and deleted after that email has gone out or the moment you ask: write to the address below, or reply to the email.

The form counts sign-ups per network address for a minute and a day, in memory, to stop one address flooding it. The address itself is not stored with your email.
